“BREXIT” VOTE: Upcoming Webinar to Discuss Possible Effects on the Recycling Industry

The recent vote of the United Kingdom to secede from the European Union was an event that shocked many around the world. The vote, more commonly known s “BREXIT” caused the British Pond to fall to historic lows the day after the vote results were announced.

The long term repercussions are not yet fully known or realized. How his will impact the recycling industry is yet to be seen.

To help ISRI members discuss the ramifications of this unprecedented vote, the webinar will feature three leading economists. They will discus the different aspects of the vote and how it will impact the recycling industry and the economy. Hanna Zhao, Senior Economist for ISRI, will focus on recovered fiber. Chad Moutray, Chief Economist for the National Association of Manufacturers, will discuss the manufacturing sector and how it will impact trade to the United Kingdom and Europe. Joe Pickard, Chief Economist for ISRI, will lead the discussion and will discuss how this historic vote will impact the recycling industry overall. Joe’s participation in the July 27 webinar will pick up on the themes and ideas he discussed in the June 27 edition of the Weekly Market Report.
